I had considered making something like this guideline last year but I didn’t think I was qualified since I’m not a “veteran” or a well-known vendor.
But a few days ago there was a post in a FB group regarding sugar glider toys and safety that made me rethink my stance.
I basically asked “why not make a guideline with the basics?”
Ok, so I am continuously looking for different options people can use so that it’s easier to find the supplies needed to make a wheel.

These types of cages are easily customizable.
The cost of making a PVC cage varies greatly. It’ll depend on your location, the design you choose and the size you go with.

I’ve seen people say things like it costs $10 or $20 to make your own wheel.
I don’t know how they are making them or if they are safe or not but, assuming you have to buy all of the materials, it’s most likely going to cost you more than $10 or $20 to make a safe wheel.
So I decided to do a cost breakdown of my wheel. (Prices may vary depending on where you live. These are the prices for my area.)
So, a few weeks ago, I posted a wheel tutorial but I noticed a couple of days ago that a lid of one of the wheels was cracking a little around the bolt.
Honestly, I’m just posting stuff here so that it seems that I’m active and the blog appears when people search for a sugar glider wheel tutorial. lol
Anyway, intros weren’t working between Gaius and any of my others…sooo I got another one for him.

There are people out there who want to make their own wheels and if you think the wheel made from this tutorial, even though it follows the Fast Track design, is unsafe and you’re all about safety, then act on it.
I am very open to a discussion. I do not believe I know it all (as evidenced by all the updates I have made and the comments I have added as the time has passed).
